<div itemprop="description">Dr. Dan Dumont - Professor of Medical Biophysics and Senior Scientist at Sunnybrook Research Institute, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the age of 55 years. Loving husband of Anne. Proud and devoted father of Christopher and Jennifer. He is survived by his mother Agnes &quot;Bunny&quot; (Steve). Beloved brother of Lynne (Howard). Dear uncle to Devin and Jacqueline. Son-in-law of Carol Robertson, brother-in-law of Adam (Susan) and uncle to Jenna, Shannon, and Maggie. <br /> <br />Dr. Dan distinguished himself as a world leading scientist in the field of endothelial cell signaling and angiogenesis. He taught and mentored many students who have gone on to great things in science, commerce and education. More recently Dr. Dan became a brave advocate for cancer research and awareness, openly sharing his experience with the disease. <br /> <br />Dr. Dan will best be remembered as a kind, gentle and generous man who had a friendly word for everyone. He was enthusiastically committed to his passions that included minor hockey and volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society. <br /> <br />Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Dan&rsquo;s Life at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville (Dundas/403) on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. in the Glen Oaks Lounge.
