<div itemprop="description">BRITTAIN: Bruce Howard<br /><br />At the Georgian Manor on April 17th 2016 at age 90. Bruce of Penatanguishene and formerly of Toronto, Oakville, Orillia, and Wasaga Beach. Beloved husband of the late Erla (nee Wendover) and the late Barb (nee Whitelaw). Dear father of Lee Brittain (Michelle) of Wasaga Beach and Len Brittain (Diane) of Oakville and step-father of the late Karen Elaine Henry. Loving grandfather of Leilani, Kai, Kim and Scott Brittain. Brother of the late Audrey McConnell of Pefferlaw and the late Harold Brittain of Dunnville. He will also be missed by Kira and Alexa Beattie and by his many nieces, nephews and friends.<br /><br />Bruce operated the White Rose gas station in Palermo Ontario for many years, followed by the ownership with Erla of Sand and Surf Cottages in Allenwood Beach until her passing. For many years, he drove a school bus for the Halton Board of Education before retiring to Cumberland Beach on Lake Couchiching with Barb. Bruce was always active, waterskiing into his &lsquo;70&rsquo;s and bicycling into his mid-80&rsquo;s. He also had a passion for family, woodworking, sailing, snow skiing, snowmobiling and fishing. He enjoyed life and cracked jokes until the end.<br /><br />An informal celebration of Bruce&rsquo;s life will be held at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home at 3164 Ninth Line Oakville on Saturday April 23rd from 1:00 until 3:00 PM with remarks and memories at 2:00. Interment for immediate family to follow. If desired, memorial contributions made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. <br /><br /><br /></div>
