After a brave and long struggle with Alzheimer's, Ping Lan Fong (née Mark) passed away peacefully at the tender age of 69 at Yee Hong Centre in Mississauga on Wednesday May 4th, 2016. At her side as always was her loving husband and constant companion of 50 years, Kam Cho.

Immigrating to Canada at 18, Ping Lan quickly adapted to the changes in her life and culture while starting her new family in North Bay. She was smart, funny, beautiful, talented and ever so kind. Cherished mother of Mee Sim (Liam), Wai Gay (Cindy), Wai Gin (Paulina), Wai Ming (Cathy), Wai Hong (Ida) and Wai Ning (Joni), she will be sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren, Alexander, Alison, Rebecca, Stephanie, Jessica, Fallon, Matthew, Clara, Daniel, Vida, Vivian and Vera. She is survived by her older brother Lai Young (Sui Ping), two younger siblings Ping Lee (Dave), Lai Man (Joann) and predeceased by her parents, Wai Sheung and Sui Ha.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.

Special thanks to the staff at Yee Hong Centre and the doctors and nurses at Credit Valley Hospital.

"Love is how you stay alive even after you are gone as the life given us, by nature is short; but the memory of a well-spent life is eternal."
