Emma Linda Thomas (Nee Spalding) - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Eatonville Nursing Home.

Emma was born in beautiful Jamaica on Tuesday, September 21, 1914, the second child of Carmenta Boyne. She is predeceased by a brother, Samuel Lawes, and a sister.

She moved to Cuba with her mother and step-father, Samuel Boyne, and spent her formative years there, learning to speak Spanish in the process which she still spoke up until recently.

She returned to Jamaica and plied her trade as a Seamstress. Eventually she met and married Percival (Percy) Thomas. She had eight (8) children: Louis (Ascott), Del (Delphina), Ken (Kenneth), Wills (William), Allan (Norman), Rose, Noel and Andrew. She also had four step-children – Ceylema (Ceylem), Cynthia (Deceased), Roy and Norman Robert. Louis, Wills and Noel preceded her in death. Her husband, Percy, also predeceased her in 1991.

Emma Linda migrated from Jamaica to Canada in 1992.

Linda, as most people called her, was a jovial peace loving lady. She was never involved in any loud arguments (Cass-Cass). She always took great care of her flock of children, never letting them be in need of anything. She was always a selfless human being. She was surely loved and will be greatly missed.
