Suddenly on February 22, 2015, in his 59th year, while enjoying a weekend of snowmobiling near Stirling, Ontario. Beloved husband of Judy. Precious father of Tina (Jamie), Brandon and Ken. Adored grandfather of Nya and Nathan. Dearest brother of Mike (Carolyn), Shelley and Linda. Treasured son of Jean Pritchard (Kerley). Predeceased by his father Ken and by his dear sister Wendy. 'Awesome' uncle of Mike, Mikaela, Chris, Danielle and Arthur.

Gentle, yet sometimes mischievous. Loving, though a bit of a tease. Laid back and easy going - all balanced by a sense of daring and fun.

An endearing mix of all this, Wayne had a special knack for inspiring great affection from all who knew him. Easy to talk to and kind-hearted, people immediately felt at ease with Wayne. He didn't have a mean bone in his body, and people naturally gravitated to his positive outlook and live-and-let-live attitude.

Underneath his sweet and loving nature, Wayne was also a person of great inner strength and resilience. Wayne lost his right hand in an accident some 35 years ago, and undaunted, went on to lead a robust and successful life. No hobbies or activities were out of bounds: racing cars, waterskiing, golf - Why not? He didn't let anything stop him. His understated perseverance and determination served as a role model for those around him. Simply put, Wayne had a lot of guts.

Wayne also achieved excellence in the Automotive Industry, building together with his twin brother, Mike, the most highly esteemed automotive rebuilding business in Canada, Active Engines. Renowned for precise, meticulous workmanship, racing figures across Canada and the US entrusted their engines to Wayne and Mike's care. Need more power? Increase those RPMs? Get that timing razor sharp? Well, Wayne was a master of his craft and he could make an engine purr like no other.

Even with his varied interests and enduring passion for motor sport, Wayne was clear about his priorities: family first. He remained a committed family man throughout his life. Wayne loved his (extended) family and all of his friends, too. Generous to those closest to him, the welcome mat was always out, and somehow Wayne seemed to have time and an encouraging word for everyone.

There is no doubt that the loss of this wonderful person is devastating. However, it is also clear that Wayne has had a great deal of influence on the people in his life. His lovable personality and his strength of character will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him for many years to come.

Friends and family are welcome to pay respects at:
• Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3164 9th Line, Oakville Ontario
• Visitation Thursday February 26 from 5-8 pm and Friday February 27 from 2-3
• Funeral services in the Chapel on Friday February 27 at 3 pm.
• For those who wish to do so, donations may be made to War Amps and West Park Healthcare Centre

Please take a moment to sign the online guestbook for the family.
