Wayne Allcock
July 9, 1939 - June 18, 2016
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dennis "Wayne" Allcock announce the passing of our dearly beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather. Just shy of his 77th birthday, Wayne went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 18 in Oakville after battling vascular dementia and Parkinson’s disease. He was a loyal son to the late Bruce and Mary Allcock, and will be remembered as a loving father to four boys; Brian, Aaron, Darrell (Claire), and Michael (Sannah), a deeply admired big brother to Gordon (Barbara), a respected uncle to Joshua and Joel and a caring grandfather to Daymion, Sky-Leigh, Jackson and Keygon. Wayne was a designer, builder and baseball pitcher with a devout faith in Jesus Christ. He enjoyed the great outdoors, playing and watching sports, and keeping up with current affairs. He will be remembered for being a charismatic conversationalist, gifted athlete and brilliant mathematician, man of great depth and having a calming presence.
Family and friends will be warmly welcomed at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 3164 Ninth Line in Oakville. The visitation will be held from 1:30-3:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m., followed by a reception. His final resting place will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with his parents and grandparents. If so desired, a donation to Teen Challenge would be appreciated as Wayne had a heart for troubled youth.
The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at Revera’s Northridge Long Term Care for their care and compassion for Wayne.
