Ryan William Craig
March 6, 1987 - April 5, 2012
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Ryan William Craig, tragically in Bermuda on Thursday April 5th, 2012. Born March 6th, 1987, Ryan was a happy and easygoing baby who grew into a wonderful man with a "million dollar smile". In his 25 years he accomplished more in life than most of us will ever dream of. His greatest legacy is that of a truly kind-hearted soul who touched countless lives. Ryan was an accomplished commercial, technical and rescue diver and more recently worked with Triangle Diving Bermuda as a PADI diving instructor. He was the leading force in the Ocean Support Foundation's campaign to remove the invasive Lionfish from local waters. A talented videographer and devoted Man U fan, he loved soccer, hockey and the ocean but most importantly his family... His wife, Madison Mello, parents Ann and Bill Craig, sisters Shannon (Chris Lambert) and Jaclyn, brother Adam and niece Riley. Mother-in-law Debbie Mello and sister-in-law Riley Mello. The many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, both in Canada and Ireland, as well as, his "diving family". A celebration of Ryan's life will take place April 21st at Glen Oaks Funeral Home in Oakville with visitation from 11am-1pm, service from 1pm-2pm, and refreshments from 2pm-3pm. Cremation will take place prior to the service and Ryan's ashes will be interned at Glen Oaks and a portion will return with his wife, Madison, to Bermuda for a Seabed Memorial where his ashes will be scattered across Bermuda's South Shore and the dedication of a Spanish Anchor (early 1700's) bearing Ryan's name. In lieu of flowers the Craig family asks that donations be made to the Ocean Support Foundation (www.oceansupport.org) in honor of Ryan.
