Michael Gerrie
September 16, 1932 - October 13, 2015
Michael Gerrie,
It is with profound sadness that the family of Michael Gerrie announces his passing on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Sierzant) for 60 years. Loving father of Rosanna Zoltek (Michal), William Gerrie (predeceased 2014)(Dianne), Michael Gerrie (Kim) and Karen Ewen (Brian). Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Justin and Tyler Zoltek; Kimberly, Alyssa and Lauren Gerrie; Ashley and Brittany Gerrie; and Jacob, Matthew and Lauren Ewen. Survived by his sister Mary Young (Bill predeceased). He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Lillian Smigelski (Ernie predeceased) and Mary Anne Caddick (Bob). Michael will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Michael was an Engineer with CP Railroad prior to beginning his own business in printing. He enjoyed watching many sports (Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs), golfing and spending time shooting pool with the Snooker Club. Visitation will be held at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville on Sunday, October 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 921 Flagship Drive, Mississauga on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Special thanks for the support and care given by Dr. Martin and Veronica Young and the nurses at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay.
