Marija Grahovac
January 4, 1952 - October 4, 2015
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and baba who passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga on Sunday, October 4th at the age of 63. She is survived by her beloved husband Ivan, children Brigita, Linda Radoš (Ivan), John, Marina and Mate. Cherished Baba to her beloved grandchildren. She also leaves behind her loving mother Marija Borovac, brother Joso (Marica), sister Ika Matić (Ivan) and many nieces and nephews in Smiljan, Lika, Croatia. Re-united in heaven with her father Mate. Marija is also survived by many other family and friends in Canada, Croatia and Australia. Marija was a long-time employee at both Loyola Catholic School and Monastery Bakery. Long-time member of the Ličko Društvo and the Croatian community in Oakville. She devoted her entire life to her family and her community and will be deeply missed.
Marija’s family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, October 7th from 6-9 PM (Holy Rosary at 8 PM) at Glen Oaks Memorial Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Croatia Parish on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. Thank you to the staff of Trillium Hospital for their care and support in her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Croatian Catholic Parish or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. “We love you Mama and will miss you so much!”
