After a long and courageous fight, Ila Khushal Savla lost her battle with cancer shortly after 4pm EST on March 28, 2016 at the young age of 61. She passed as peacefully as possible, surrounded and joined by friends and family while listening to prayers. First and foremost, she lived as a devout practitioner of the Jain religion and in particular Param Krupaludev Shrimad Rajchandra. She was also the beloved wife of Khushal, devoted mother of Shaloo and Dimple, loving sister of Surendra, Sumita, Meena, Vanita, Bharti, Narendra and Mahendra, and proud daughter of the late Dr. Bhavanji Raisi and Nirmala Shah. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and she has unquestionably left our lives far too soon. She was an extremely passionate and caring friend to many. An outgoing yet private person, Ila thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with her friends (typically over her famous cup of tea) and easily made new ones everywhere she went. Among many traits, she was known for never forgetting a birthday or sending holiday greeting cards to friends and relatives around the world. Above all, however, Ila’s greatest joy and passion was caring for her family. She was a supportive partner to Khushal and the most transformative figure and cheerleader in the lives of Shaloo and Dimple. She taught them countless lessons, even in her final moments. Though she is no longer physically with us, Ila reassured them that she would live on in our hearts and minds forever.

Ila’s family would like to sincerely thank everyone who has kept her in their thoughts, wishes and prayers over the last few years, and most importantly through the last month of her battle. It has significantly helped sustain them during this difficult time. For those wishing to leave a message or a remembrance, please email us at shaloo.savla@gmail.com. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Glen Oaks Funeral Home (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville) at 1:00pm EST. A Jain prayer ceremony will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 8:00pm at the Savla residence. Please email us for additional information.
