Ian Ward Fielding
March 25, 1965 - May 9, 2015
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ian announces his passing on May 9, 2015, in Georgetown at the age of 50. He was the best friend and most loving husband to Elaine. Ian was a devoted and wonderful father to his three daughters – Meghan, Nicole and Chelsea. He has left a void in the hearts of his mother Catherine, and his older siblings, Graham (Trudy), Cheryl (Paul) and Keith (Vicki). He joins his father John, brother Barry, sister-in-law Christine and mother-in-law Thelma in Heaven. He will be sadly missed by his father-in-law Danny, and brothers-in-law Gordon (Jan), Ken (Carolyn) and sister-in-law Alison (Peter). He was uncle to 14 nieces and nephews and great uncle to three. He will forever be in the hearts of the boys in the “Clarkson Crew”.
Ian was both a licensed millwright and electrician. Latterly in his career, he was a project manager and business developer for Valard Construction. He was well-known and respected throughout the electrical industry, and will be missed by his many colleagues and friends.
Ian gave his all to everything he did. He was lovingly referred to as “Mr. Maximum.” He was a born athlete who excelled at every sport he tried. He especially loved hockey, soccer and golf. This competitive nature helped him face his five-year battle with cancer with absolute courage and ferocity, and he never gave up the hope he could win.
Elaine and the girls were his world and he told them every day how much he loved them, not only through his words, but his actions. His girls were so fortunate and blessed to have such a loving, caring, passionate Dad who encouraged and motivated them to be all they could be.
A celebration of Ian’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Le Dome, 1173 North Service Road East, Oakville at 11 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior from 10-11 a.m. If desired, donations can be made to the Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre. Online condolences can be expressed through, www.glenoaks.ca
