Frank Lacka Jr.
September 7, 1937 - January 15, 2016
It is with immense sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Lacka Jr., age 78, on January 15, 2016 after a 16-year valiant battle against Alzheimer’s disease.
Frank, loving father to daughters, Tracey Leigh Lacka, Laura Antonia (Lacka) Babbitt, and son-in-law, Philip James Babbitt, Dedko to grandchildren, Stella Frankie and Dean Eric, brother to Kvitinka (Kay) Dvorak and Miro (Patricia) Lacka, uncle to many nieces and nephews, former husband to Donna Marie (Smith) Lacka and cherished brother-in-law to the Smith Family.
Frank is sure to be enjoying his joyous reunions with his parents, Antonia and Frank Lacka Sr., brother-in-law Ladislav (Laddie) Dvorak, as well as many cherished family and friends who passed before him.
Frank will also be fondly remembered by family, friends and colleagues as an accomplished architect, respected businessman, snazzy dresser, skilled accordion player, exceptional dancer, bona-fide handy-man, seasoned traveller, eclectic music and British comedy enthusiast, and all-around “great guy”.
A very special thanks to the kindhearted and exceptional staff at the Village of Tansley Woods long-term care home who have cared for Frank since May 2002.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. - Prayers and Eulogy will commence at 7:30 p.m. - at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at 10am, at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville, Ontario. Interment and reception will follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Cemetery and Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memories can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
