<div itemprop="description">Alexandra (Alex) Joyce Pollock, born August 14th, 1963 in Campbellton, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 with family by her side at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario at the age of 52 after a three year battle with cancer. <br>She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years Bruce Young, her beloved dog Hogan, her siblings Katherine (Saki), Stephen (Loretta), Bonnie (Roland), Donald (Martine), Joan (Harold), and Lana (Daniel), as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Avis Marie Pollock (Smith) in 1996 and sister Johanne Margaret Pollock in 1967.<br>Alex was a lover of nature and of life’s simple pleasures, and surrounded herself by family and good friends. She was fiercely loyal, unimaginably strong, and constantly concerned with others ahead of herself. Her strength and selflessness inspired all who knew her, up to and including her final moments.<br>Her infectious nature will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.<br>Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6th 2016 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 3164 Ninth Line in Oakville, Ontario. The funeral service will follow the next day on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 at 12:30pm, also at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery. Viewing time will be provided ahead of the service from 11:30am-12:30pm, and the service will be followed by refreshments and reflection. <br>“I had my day, and at the end of the day it was a good day.
